Bridging the Middle East with the Rest of the World through Perfumery

5PM – 7.30PM, Wednesday 28 October, Kenyes Room, King’s College, King’s Parade, CB2 1ST

As part of this year’s Cambridge Festival of Ideas, the Centre organised an event feautring Christopher Chong, Creative Director of Amouage, an international perfumery house originating in Oman. Under the Festival theme power and resistance, Bridging the Middle East with the Rest of the World through Perfumery provided a platform to challenge our preconceptions and explore the opportunities in which scent can create a dialogue and understanding between different cultures.

Drawing from personal experiences Christopher Chong presented an informal lecture about his creative process for Amouage Perfumery House, explaining to a diverse audience how our sense of smell has the ability to define a dialogue between cultures and perfumes. The event even included trying a variety of Amouage perfumes!
